Handouts & Powerpoint Show from my presentation on “Yoga for Radiant Kids” at the Oklahoma Childcare Association Conference

I had an OMazing time sharing my love for kids yoga with a great group of childcare providers at the annual Oklahoma Childcare Association Conference today. It was one of the most highly requested sessions with about 55 people in attendance.

Shared lots of great ideas. Also a few fun Youtube clips from from Barbara Gini from BodyLogique /S.M.Art Kids Yoga, Donna Freeman from Yoga In My School, Lani Rosen-Gallagher from Full of Joy Yoga and The Sun Dance Kids Yoga/Music Video by Bari Koral Family Rock Band. It was like having you guys there with us 🙂

Here are copies of the Powerpoint show & handouts:

“Love Me For Who I Am – Songs Celebrating Children Of All Abilities” – new CD by Brady Rymer

I absolutely love the new Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could CD “Love Me For Who I Am”! Will be perfect to use in my kids yoga groups. We incorporate affirmation/self esteem into every group. Here’s the video of the title track “Love Me For Who I Am”. OMazing work by Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I53UiPI39Zc. Anyone who loves kids needs to check out his album! Pure awesomeness!

Laurie Berkner (http://www.facebook.com/LaurieBerknerBand) collaborated with Brady on the song “Soft Things” on this album and very eloquently described the album in her FB post “This beautiful album honors kids of all abilities, with themes that resonate particularly well for kids on the autism spectrum.”.

Add A Little Sunshine To Your Yoga – Sun Breath & Stretch

One of my favorite YouTube clips of little kids doing yoga is from Lani Rosen-Gallagher of Full of Joy Yoga. Being inspired to try it out, I made some suns and  used them in my OMazing Kids Yoga group at the JD McCarty Center. It was OMazing how a prop as simple as a paper sun helped the kids get both arms up, to imitate breathing out “loud/fast” vs. “soft/slow”, and to stretch by moving their suns in different directions. Here is a PDF of the suns I used : small and large suns printable for Sun Stretch & Breath – yoga or you could have kids draw & cut out their own.

Thanks Lani for adding some sunshine to my kids yoga! You can follow her blog at: http://fullofjoyoga.blogspot.com/, on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Full-of-Joy-Yoga/284744186246 or find her online at http://fullofjoyoga.com/.

I’m passing the sunshine along to you so you can share the joyful sun 🙂
