What I LOVE about this book:

  • Beautiful portrayal of a loving relationship between a mother & child.
  • Great message of admiring the earth’s beauty will inspire kids to care for our world and all living creatures.
  • Gorgeous illustrations with lots of details. Like most Barefoot Books, each time I read it I find more things on each page. It’s fun to look for the cat, boy & mama on each page! Great for working on vocabulary & lots of opportunities for kids yoga poses & breathing.
  • Beautiful rhyming text makes this book as beautiful to read and hear as is it is to see.
  • Large easy to read text.

  3. Here are the comments from the entries received via the “Enter Giveaways Here…” tab on the OMazing Kids Facebook page:

    * I would use this book both at home with my very eco-conscious three year old and in the classroom with my many students ranging from age 6-9. I currently strive to include an appreciation and awareness of our amazing earth in lessons, conversations, and when writing about our daily attitude of gratitude. This book would be a beautiful addition to these lessons and conversations. I know it would get so many years of use and love. It would be a fabulous way to incorporate and integrate a love and care for this earth in so many aspects as well as across the curriculum. Off the top of my head, this book would be great for writing lessons, science lessons with a link to botany and animal studies, gratitude time, art, yoga, Earth Day, and so many more. The large easy to read text would be great for my 3 year old and for reading in the classroom at circle time for all the students to see. This is a absolutely beautiful book in every sense.

    * I would love to share this story with all the Yoga kids in my life. This is a very important virtue to teach our children. Yoga has so many beautiful ways to communicate consciousness, to live life feeling connected to ourselves , others, to the earth and beyond.

    * This looks like such a beautiful book and perfect for a kids yoga class as each page has animals and nature scenes that coincide with yoga poses. The kids and I would love it!

    * To teach children’s yoga.

  4. My children would love everything about this book! I would love to use this with my Yoga Kids as well.I will be starting alot of kids yoga come Sept. It is always nice to have some new tricks to pull out of my magic yoga bag.Yoga teaches children so many important virtues, I just love connecting with kids this way!

  5. I learned about Barefoot Books while interning at a Montessori school here in OKC last year, love them!! This school year I will be teaching at a quaint Montessori school high in the Colorado Rockies, and I would love to be able to share this awesome book with my students!
