Services for young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders are being cut by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.

What?! How? Why would services be cut when the incidence rates of Autism continue to rise at alarming rates?

I wonder what influence a social media, blog, e-mail & phone call blitz might have?! I can’t just sit on the sidelines and watch these services quietly disappear in our state. Who’s with me?

I’m still shocked and saddened at the closure of the Oklahoma Assistive Technology Center and confused as to why special needs advocacy groups in Oklahoma are not outraged and demanding honest answers from OSDE. Months have gone by now with the same canned response from OSDE that services have not been cut. Prove it OSDE. Show us in exact detail how these or comparable services will be provided.
