Here’s what I love about this book:
- LOVE that the two main characters in the book have special needs (hearing loss) and are portrayed in a positive & empowered way!
- It is a moving story of the power of being true to yourself & friendship when being faced with teasing/bullying. Love the positive ending 🙂
- There are 16 yoga poses woven throughout the story with opportunities for more by incorporating poses for other things seen in the background.
- The book has bright colorful illustrations & a nice easy-to-read font size.
- Lots of great vocabulary & descriptive language will make this book fun to use in my work as a SLP 🙂
Here’s a “sneek peek” inside the book:

* I have special needs kids in my class so I am delighted to hear this is a book that includes them! Would love to use this story in my various classes ages 4-teens!! Thanks again for the great review & giveaway OMazing kids 🙂
* I would use this in my classroom yoga and at home with my little ones!
* I work in an integrated preschool. The Occupational Therapist and I became certified Childlight Yoga Instructors together and are in our 3rd year of including yoga in the preschool curriculum. This book would be another great tool in planning our weekly yoga session. And this also seems to be a great way to celebrate our different gifts in a setting where these questions may come up. Families often ask us for books and at home resources and it would be great to preteach and then recommend families sharing this book together.
* I’d love to win this book as I love doing kids yoga with my 5 year old son Kaz. He’s been into yoga since around two years old. I’m alway looking for something new to do with yoga and this book would be something amazing to share with my son. What a fabulous christmas gift this would be for him! Many thanks.
* I would be using this book in my classes, along with work I do in my school. I currently do a lunch time yoga “club” a couple of times a week with a small group. This would be great to utilize in the work I do with children who have special needs as well!
* In my class at school i have two special needs children, i think that this would be a fabulous tool to help the “normal” students and my special ones learn, work and play together. In my yoga classes this would be used to show how we can do yoga anywhere and not just in the studio. thank you so much. xo
* I would add this delightful looking book to my collection and share with the children in my classes at a school for children on the autism spectrum and for classes at the community center. I work with children of various ages although developmentally some are far below their chronological ages. The beautiful illustrations will capture the kids imaginations.
I love actual yoga stories for kids and the kids in my life love them too. I would use this book in my kids classes, and I am sure it will be a very welcomed addition. I am able to teach to quite a handful of amazing kids.I have a sessions running at the Child Development Centre that are free for kids and parents. We are hoping to help create a home practice for these families by by giving them resources. Of course Omazing Kids is at the top of resource list. I have also named many books for them and have given sample classes from these books. So much fun!
Just reaching out to say hi and to thank you for being such a wonderful resource for kids yoga teachers and others. You rock 🙂 Love, Lisa
Thanks Lisa! I love sharing ideas on my blog & social media sites. I am committed to sharing free resources & ideas since many parents, teachers, therapists & kids yoga teachers have limited budgets to spend on materials and training. I would hate for cost to be a barrier for folks to be able to implement yoga & other wellness strategies 🙂
